In 1962 our treasured friend, Dr. Vernon Renner, obtained 65 acres of extraordinary Ozark pasture and woodland in the Rock Prairie district of Polk County. He managed the land so as to preserve and enhance its natural beauty. It is crisscrossed by many ancient but still used traces that were originally Indian and animal trails. The old Pioneer Road between Pleasant Hope and Buffalo, Missouri passes through the center of the acreage. The 25 acres has a wide variety of typical Ozarks topography, including hardwood and cedar timber, meadows, ravines, and rock formations.
